Fall has always been my favorite season -- the weather, the apples, the warm color palate, and, yes, the pumpkins!

I have a beautiful, brilliant friend by the name of Jody. A superb writer and stay-at-home-mom, she returned to college recently to study Chemical Engineering (yes, she really is that smart). She fell in love with this yarn when visiting, so I turned it into something to keep her warm on her winter commute.

Winter in Ohio can be pretty bleak -- cold and gray are the adjectives of choice. As I suffered a week of sub-zero temperatures (outfitted in my warmest black boots and coats), I bemoaned my utter lack of warm black scarves.
