Like many knitters, I have a little sock yarn problem. My regular stash is rather fluid, I put some in, I knit some up and it stays about the same size. Not so with my sock yarn stash. That just grows. I pick up a skein or two here on clearance, on vacation, in a color I like, in a color I know one of my children would like, etc.

This is another in my “On a Limb” series of leg warmers for children. This pair uses a twist stitch and a few well placed cables that form a wee little owl looking out of his home in a tree trunk.

My sister, BIL, two daughters and I saw The Hobbit over Christmas break. There is a ton of awesome knitted apparel in the movie. I found myself very distracted by it. Humorously enough, my sister was distracted by the crochet doily and my BIL saw all sorts of pottery I missed. We’re all rather crafty.
