Mrs. Gladwell’s Shawl was named for Joyce Gladwell. Her book, “Brown Face, Big Master” was such an inspiration for me. Even though it was originally published in 1969 it still resonates today. I love it for it’s honesty, courage and insight. This is my version of expressing my appreciation of her work through my talent, crochet design.

My fur baby is a 10 year-old tuxie who loves yarn as much as I do. His favorite is alpaca. It’s one of mine too. This cowl is stitched in bulky weight alpaca with a K hook. It’s perfect for a beginner who wants to expand his/her repertoire of stitches.

Wonderland Beanie is a nod to the bizarre and nonsensical world created by Lewis Carroll. Wonderland is also the last stop on the blue line, part of the mass transit subway system in Boston. It was once the home of an amusement park and a race track, and it is still the stop for Revere Beach, the first public beach in the United States.
