Salt Cedar Shawl was designed with the nature I’m surrounded by in mind. Just over the arroyo and down the dirt road grows a section of salt cedar trees or Tamarisk as its known in New Mexico. Many farmers and ranchers try to remove this invasive plant but to me it adds to the beauty of the landscape.

This asymmetrical triangle is worked flat starting at the left corner with increases at the beginning of every right side row. For a clean edge, the first stitch is slipped at the beginning of every row.

This cowl was inspired from the winds and the weather that come and go from the west. Our homestead sits on vast amounts of open land that allows for breathtaking views from all around. An I-cord drawstring with leather tabs is a simple addition to this cozy cabled cowl. With a provisional cast on, Weatherbe, is worked flat and joined at the end with a Kitchener Stitch.
