In 2023 we were lucky enough to travel to a small community out in the west of New South Wales Australia, Lightning Ridge to try our hand at opal hunting. We did not come home with millions of dollars’ worth of opal but had such a great dirty and dusty time trying to find them.

I love working up little squares and joining them together. The summer of 2023/2024 has been exceptionally hot in Australia. We have seen some crazy temperatures regularly getting up to 40 Degrees Celsius with the humidity around 90% where I live. The promise of cooler weather is coming as we head into Autumn and Winter
