With the two full skeins of Adventure Gnome called for, you can make two hats. Just swap your MC & CC for the second hat!
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
The design for this shawl came from the amazing viewers of my live Feature Friday video series on Facebook. It was great FUN to have input from the audience; I ran polls for everything from color choice and stitch pattern to shawl shape and design. This is truly a shawl designed by our YG community!

Two complementary colors dance together in this sock, creating beautiful harmony from opposition. Choose your own diametric hues or select one of the gnomes’ nature-inspired sets.

While scaling the craggy cliffs of Mt. Apollo, wear this woolly cap to keep your dome warm. Or just while you’re out walking your dog… either way, grand adventures are better with a warm head!
Knitting: Cowl
Take a walk along the banks of Gnome River down to Gnomesville, where creatures of the same name gather under toadstools and share tales of their adventures through the Garden.

Knit yourself a stack of these soft cowls! The garter stitch stripe pushes the wool out to the right side of the

One of our favorite family activities in the fall is going to our favorite local cider mill. Walking through the apple-laden trees with a freshly baked, still-hot doughnut in one hand and a cup of cold cider in the other is the perfect setting for this textured, super bulky hat!

Prickly lace edges rows and rows of garter stitch in this shawl-style cowl. The oversized picot edge adds a

A single stitch motif adorns the back of this tree-inspired mitt. The twisted stitch cables at the cuff twist and turn underground like roots, the simple rope cable stands sturdy and strong like the trunk, and the open knit cables near the hand reach upwards to the sky like the branches of a tree.

The giant holes in this fun scarf make for a fun way to style and wear it. The majority of the fabric is garter stitch, making it a great choice for that single skein of variegated sock yarn marinating in your stash. But be careful… one wrong move and you could slip right through a portal into a parallel dimension!
Knitting: Slippers
This quick little slipper grows out of the heel flap, with vines wrapping around the pretty leaf design decorating the toe. Slip these on when you are deep couch sitting and admire them from the foot stool.

Did you know there is a name for the distinctive black markings on birch trees? They are called lenticels, defined as “one of many raised pores in the stem of a woody plant that allows gas exchange between the atmosphere and the internal tissues.”

Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Inspired by pointy succulent stalks, geometric lace spikes this way and that. The resulting fabric echoes those stalks, with points emerging from both sides of the rectangle. The button placement encourages exploration in the myriad ways to wear it… a poncho, a cowl, a wrap.

A patch of dirt, silent and cold, waits patiently for the warmth of the sun. As the beams shine brightly upon the dirt, a shoot of green appears, followed by another, and another, until finally blooming in glorious color. As the temperature climbs, more and more green appears, along with the first juicy berries. Finally, that patch of dirt’s ha...

The ocean’s natural playground, sculpted by the ocean’s own constant movement, imitated here with giant yarnovers and lots of texture. Imagine vibrantly colored fish darting in and out, playing hide and seek among the seaweed as the yarn slips through your fingers, fluid as the ocean water that inspired it.

Watch as the reversible cables and rib stitches push and pull your stitches, much like water pushes and sculpts the bed of a river.

When I first saw these skeins of luscious, fluffy yarns, I knew I needed a cowl, like, NOW!!
Knitting: Ankle Sock
I adore all the pretty booties that are popular to wear right now, but I must confess… I have sweaty, stinky feet, and I HAVE to wear socks. Plus, I hate when my feet are cold! So I present to you my compromise to the cold, stinky feet issue. Bootie socks! Short little socks with an adorable picot edge, just big enough to peek out the top of yo...
Knitting: Mittens
Thick, squishy, warm… these are all good things to say about a mitten! Even better when the stitch pattern tames the most gorgeously variegated, hand painted yarn. Choose one of those crazy skeins you couldn’t resist; the slip stitch pattern mixes the wild colors up and prevents pooling, all while creating a warm, double thick fabric.

Imagine yourself out on a boat in the middle of a lake somewhere. You’re relaxing in the back of the boat, watching the wake created by the disturbance of the vessel cutting through the waters. That choppy water behind the boat is what I see when I look at this color, and the texture of the stitch mimics the currents.

Raindrops glisten on the windows, catching the light and twinkling ever-so-subtly in the gloomy, filtered light from the clouds.

A creeping vine grows gracefully from the twisted rib of the cuff of the sock. Winding first one way, then the other, pulled in different directions by simple increasing and decreasing, the vine snakes down the leg, ending in the heel flap. Leaves branch off the main vine, created with simple lace stitches. The remainder of the sock is knit wit...

Celebrating Valentine’s Day with flowers that wilt and high calorie treats always seemed a bit contradictory to the meaning of the holiday. To me, a symbol of love is something that is everlasting and deeply personal, showing that my partner is actually thinking of me (and not doing something out of obligation). So what better to give a knitter...

Wear these mitts to cheer on the Charlotte Orioles (or your favorite sports team), or while birdwatching for orioles… or just to keep your hands warm in this bright, cheerful color!
