You can use any Fingering weight yarn as long as you get gauge for this size.

This pattern has an optional I-cord draw string. I normally work a darker color for the one end of the cowl and a lighter for the other end.

You can make this hat taller by making the rib taller. This hat “hugs” your head comfortably.

You could use smaller needle size for smaller size or larger needle size for larger size.

You can change the hat size (around head) by changing the needle size. If you want your hat to be taller add extra rounds before you start on the decreases.
