Tunisian Crochet creates a thick fabric which is nice for dishcloths and trivets for hot dishes to sit on when serving food. This lovely dishcloth uses the Arrowhead stitch for a little bit of visual interest. It is a great intermediate stitch for the beginning Tunisian crocheter.

Crochet: Pillow / Cushion
Sherlock’s Bees is a Tunisian Crochet sampler pillow cover. The honeycomb stitch reminds me of busy honeybees and, being a librarian by day, I had to pull in the literary reference… leading to the name Sherlock’s Bees.
Knitting: Slippers
This pattern has been around for ages. Many grandmothers made these slippers for their grandkids. My friend, Janet, wrote out the pattern that her grandma taught her, and I typed it up for her. Crochet: Coaster
I learned to make this coaster while volunteering as a Victorian lady at Living History Farms one summer. Crocheting was a proper pastime for ladies, so it was something I was allowed to do while in costume.
