We are often inclined to cover up our mistakes, hide our regrets, fears and failings to be the person we think society wants us to be. It’s time we embrace our pasts and show our scars, they are beautiful and make us who we are. The Snagged Stitch cowl uses 24 scraps of yarn, perfect for using up scraps or Advent Calendar yarns.

Crochet: Mittens
When making my Christmas pressies this year, I designed these geometric mittens, which I think look like twin peaks in a mountain range. This pattern makes child size mittens using an aran weight yarn and a 4.5mm hook, I used 3 colours from the Paintbox yarn range and had over half of each of the 3 100g balls left afterwards. All of the instru...
Crochet: Decorative - Other
This heart is not uniform, it is not symmetrical, it is not perfect. But it is beautiful, just like you, and me and all of us. In the run up to Valentine’s Day, we get consumed by the ideals of love and romance, frustrated that we perhaps aren’t as loved up as the next Facebook couple – or perhaps we are just happy being single and have no inte...
Crochet: Scarf
The Heart in a Cage scarf was my first filet crochet pattern, and it is still one of my favourite things to make. It actually got finished in Marbella…it’s certainly wasn’t cold enough to make it there! I’ts names after my favourite song by the Strokes. This is made using an aran cotton with a 6.5mm hook, I used Mondial Bio-Soft cotton
