Crochet: Softies - Other
When my grandson asked me to make me a BFB Marker for his birthday, I had absolutely no idea what that was. He showed me on his computer. Oh dear!! I searched online for a pattern and simply could not find one. Rather than disappoint him, I decided to draw up a pattern. Just in case there is someone else in the world with the same problem, I th...
Knitting: Towel
This pattern was inspired by another Ravelry designer who graciously gave me permission to copy her crochet idea and adapt it for a knitting project. Check out her design for a “Live, Love, Meow wall hanging” at: Samantha Harpur’s Ravelry Store!! Thank you so much, Samantha, for letting me expand on your design idea.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This dishcloth is a simple pattern suitable for beginners. Skills needed are cast-on, cast-off, knit and purl.
Knitting: Hands - Other
My granddaughter needed something to wear on her thumbs to keep her from wearing her thumbnails down. (Born with Rett Syndrome). My daughter asked me if I could come up with something that her daughter could wear. So, this pattern came to be. In case any of you could use such a pattern, I decided to share, as I couldn’t find anything like it on...
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth

Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
The inspiration for this dishcloth came from this post on Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/stark-baking-mad.... I thought it was so funny that I just HAD to put the words on a dishcloth.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Sorry, I gave away my dishcloth before thinking of measuring and weighing it. You will need most of the 50gr ball of 100% cotton yarn.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
In British Columbia, Canada, where I live, the doctor in charge of keeping our province on track during this pandemic reminds us all in her daily new conference that all citizens to follow her mantra of “Be Calm, Be Kind, Be Safe”, and I decided to see if I could design a dishcloth using these words.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
A lovely Ravelry member contacted me and asked if I would design a Proverbs 31:30 dishcloth for her. I had absolutely no idea what that was, so I had to Google to find out what she was asking for. I came up with this design. Just in case there are other knitters who are interested, I decided to post my pattern.
Crochet: Cozy - Other
This pattern came about in my frustration with having an easy way to store my silicone baking mats. They are not to be folded and I had nowhere to lie them flat. First I tried storing it standing in an old can and then rolled up in an old paper tube. I like my crocheted holder much better!!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This dishcloth is a simple project that would be good for a beginner. Skills needed are cast on, knit, purl and cast off. My finished dishcloth measures 9 1/2” W x 9”H. The dishcloth will use most of a 50 gr ball of 100% cotton worsted weight yarn.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This is the time of year when thoughts turn to making jams and jellies. However, it had never occurred to me to design a jam jar cloth until I heard from Dinah who made the suggestion. There are two versions of this dishcloth, both a ‘garter stitch’ jar and a ‘fancy stitch’ one, both are included with this pattern. To do the plain version, a ba...

I had originally wanted to design this cloth with the giraffes facing forward, but after several tries of different techniques for making eyes, nothing looked right. Sigh. I was ready to tear out the cloth but then the idea occurred to me to make the giraffes facing away. If you have an idea for eyes for the giraffes, I would LOVE to see what y...

Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
I was inspired to design this dishcloth by a chart that I happened to come across on the Internet. Teddies are always so sweet!!
Crochet: Cleaning - Other
This yarn is fabulous for exfoliating while bathing. I initially made a dishcloth for one of my daughters, but she shifted it to use while bathing. Not so good for dishes!! I saw a ‘flower’ video online for this type of shape, but it was in German, and I could not understand it, so I decided that I would design a pattern myself. My design has a...
Knitting: Scrubber
I think any of these sparkle yarns make great scrubbies or loofahs, but I do not like dishcloths made with it. I first made this little scrubby for a friend of one of my daughters. Her friend absolutely loves it, and my daughter asked if I would please make one for her. Thus this pattern was born.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Seeing as how this dishcloth is knitted with cotton yarn, it seemed quite appropriate to name it, “Cottontail Dishcloth”. It must be my kooky sense of humour. Regardless, another little cloth to add to my collection of patterns.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This pattern was inspired by a cross stitch pattern that I happened to come across some time ago … I ‘knifted’ the idea and came up with my version for a dishcloth.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
My husband’s favourite activity in the summer is barbecuing, and one day he suggested that I design a barbecue dishcloth, thus this pattern came to be!! There’s not much left of summer where we live in central British Columbia, but those down under, like Tunie, have summer on the way.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
My first thought was to call this dishcloth “Memories of Maui”, but that is not descriptive for other knitters. When my husband and I were last in Maui, my daughter and her husband treated us to a helicopter tour of west Maui. It was amazing!! On our way into the heliport parking lot, I noticed the sign of Blue Hawaiian Helicopters that had a l...
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
After seeing my “Piece of Cake” dishcloth design, a friend of mine asked if I had designed one with a slice of pie. I hadn’t even thought of it! Needless to say, she planted a seed, and I wasn’t satisfied until I came up with a design. This dishcloth is for her.
Knitting: Towel
This pattern is a hanging tea towel version of my Nativity Tea Towel/Wall Hanging pattern. It coordinates with my Nativity Dishcloth pattern.
Knitting: Towel
This tea towel was designed as a companion to a Nativity dishcloth that I designed some time ago.

Bauble: a small, usually spherical ornament made of coloured or decorated material which is hung from the branches of a Christmas tree (www.dictionary.com)
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This dishcloth is an English version of a pattern that I published earlier … Kaffeekanne, which is coffee pot in German.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
For some time I had been wanting to design a more classic style Christmas tree dishcloth but had not been able to figure out how to do so. At last!!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This pattern was originally designed for the Creawelten website Christmas Advent calendar. I drew up the graph, and Claudi generously organized getting the pattern written up in German. I don’t know who test knit the pattern, but Ich danke dir!!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
A rocket ship dishcloth for space enthusiasts. I NEVER would have thought of designing one until a fellow Raveler contacted me with the idea. To follow … a UFO dishcloth currently in the works!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
I would have preferred to use my usual Bernat Handicrafter 100% cotton worsted weight yarn, but this pattern was designed in the air between Edmonton and Vancouver, Canada, and I cast on using the only yarn that I had with me, Araucania Ulmo, while on a lay-over in Vancouver, so I will not give measurements and grams this time.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
When I designed the Peacock Tea Towel, I added bird tracks at the top as a bit of detailing. Then it occurred to me that a matching dishcloth might be ‘fun’! Tunie thought it was a great idea, and so this dishcloth took form.
Knitting: Towel
This tea towel was specially designed for Tunie’s 70th birthday. She lives in Australia in a peacock palace in a peacock paradise. You guessed it …. she LOVES peacocks. It was quite a few years ago that we ‘found’ each other when she decided to knit my peacock dishcloth. Eventually she became my test knitter, and her input and expertise have be...
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth, Scrubber
After finding the Flowers in a Row stitch on this website, I just KNEW that I had to find a way to incorporate it into a dishcloth!!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
My finished dishcloth measures 8 3/4” W x 8 1/2” H and weighs 40 gr.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
While Tunie was test knitting my ‘Coffee or Tea?’ dishcloth, Fred, Tunie’s husband, suggested that the dishcloth should say, ‘Coffee Tea or Me?’!! My husband totally agreed, and so this dishcloth came to be. Fred and Wilf are two absolutely terrific guys and we value their input!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
My finished cloth weighs in at 41 gr. and measures 8 3/4”W x 9 1/2”L.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Some time ago my husband suggested that I design a beer stein dishcloth, and every once in awhile he’d ask if I was still going to make one. He is very pleased with what I came up with! The feature design on the beer stein is my variation of the “Palm Leaf stitch” found on page 29 in The Essential Stitch Collection book by Lesley Stanfield &...
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
My finished dishcloth weighs in at 36 gr. A combination of knit and purl stitches are used to ‘draw’ this whimsical little heart!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
My dishcloth weighs in at 36 gr. I tend to knit with a loose tension, about a size down from what is called for in a pattern, so you may need to use a size larger needle if you knit with a tighter tension.
Knitting: Wall Hanging
Many thanks to Tunie, who came up with idea of adapting my Christmas Tree II Tea Towel ~ flat to create a wall hanging. She was so enthusiastic that she figured out the eyelets for the dowel to feed through and quickly knitted up her idea.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
If anyone may have guessed by now, I LOVE cats, although we no longer have a cat because of a son-in-law’s allergies. Sigh.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This dishcloth truly is “A Corgi for Tunie”, as she loves the breed so much. The pattern was a Christmas surprise for her. Hugs, Tunie, I so appreciate your enthusiasm and willingness to take on all patterns that I send your way.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth

Thanks so much to Tunie for test knitting this pattern for me!! She is willing to take on anything I send her way! This pattern is not for the ‘faint of heart’, although it only involves knit and purl stitches. Most of this pattern requires careful counting of stitches on both the right and wrong side of your work.

Knitting: Towel
The finished body of my tea towel measures 14.5”W x 13”L, and the whole tea towel weighs 94 gr.
Knitting: Towel
The finished towel weighs in at 106 gr., so just over 2 50 gr balls of yarn are needed to finish this project.
Knitting: Towel
Thanks so much to Tunie for test knitting this pattern for me!! It is wonderful to have her ‘back’ and seeing her projects once again.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
I’ve been on a cat quilt ‘kick’ lately, and while Googling cat quilt blocks, I came across one that I thought I could easily transpose to a dishcloth. So …. distracted from quilting, I got busy on this dishcloth!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Some time ago, while my husband and I were away on holiday, we saw a “skeleton” made of boards standing in a field. I made a mental note that at some point in time, I could use that idea for a dishcloth. The finished cloth weighs in at 41 gr.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Please note that for this dishcloth I did not use my usual Handicrafter Cotton Solids yarn, as I didn’t have a colour I wanted to knit this dishcloth in, so I dug in my stash and used a Dollar Store yarn ~ Crafts Promofil Cotton Blend. It is not a great yarn to work with and the dishcloth is not the same quality!!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Finished measurements are 9 1/2”W x 9 1/4”H. You will need one 50 gr ball of yarn plus about a 60” piece of contrast colour, if making the contrast colour heart, to knit this dishcloth.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Finished measurements are 9 1/4” W x 8 3/4” H. One 50 gr ball of yarn is required plus a small piece of either pink or red for the contrast heart. I cut a piece 60” long and that was plenty.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This dishcloth was designed especially for Tunie, because she loved the many corgis that she had over the years. They all have special places in her heart, and she thought a dishcloth with a corgi theme would be perfect.
Knitting: Towel
Many thanks to Tunie, who knitted up this pattern for me … twice! Neither of us really liked the first version, so I tweaked the top section and this one is much better! I designed this pattern with 100% cotton worsted weight yarn in mind but other yarns will work as well … as Tunie has done! If the towel is too short for your taste, simply add...
Knitting: Towel
This tea towel is a ‘flat’ version of my Tea Time Tea Towel …. i.e. without the hanger. The pictures are the same, but are reversed on either end so the towel can be hung either way.
Knitting: Towel
My finished tea towel measures 14 1/4” W and 13 1/4” H to the hanger. As I knit with a loose tension, I usually knit with a size smaller needle than a pattern requires. When knitting ‘pictures’ it is important to knit with a bit tighter tension than usual in order for the details of the picture to stand out more clearly, and to do so, I use siz...
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
I ‘knifted’ the idea for this dishcloth from the tricksyknitter website. A Rebecca H. posted the original chart to share. Her chart would work for a double knit dishcloth but not for the garter knit style that I like to knit. There is an electronic graph on the website to change charts, but I could not figure out how to use it, so it was back t...
Knitting: Towel
This tea towel is a variation of my original Gardener’s Tea Towel pattern. While corresponding with Tunie (Peacockmom), she confessed to me that she preferred a flat tea towel to a hanging one, thus the idea for this one was born. The instructions for the original pattern remain the same up to the tab at the top. For this pattern, I have revers...
Crochet: Decorative - Other
Another crochet pattern designed by my youngest daughter. We are both fans of the solar dancing flowers! Depending on your tension, the hook size may vary from 3.5 (me) to 6.0 (her) to get the correct tension. You will need about 15 g of yarn.
Knitting: Towel
To knit this hanging tea towel, you will need at least 95 gr of 100% cotton worsted weight yarn. The width of the tea towel section of this towel is 14” and the length from the bottom to the hanger is 12”.
Knitting: Towel
To complete this hanging tea towel, you will need 2 50gr balls of 100% cotton worsted weight yarn. The finished measurements of the tea towel, not including the hanger are 14 1/4” W x 13 1/2” L.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This cake is ‘frosted’ using the Swedish Weave stitch. In this section of the cake, the pink yarn is never actually ‘knit’ but is simply passed from front to back between stitches worked with the white yarn. Questions? Here’s a couple of websites:
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Finished weight is 45 gr. The Vertical Wrap stitch that forms the basket is extra dense and the bobbles on the sunflowers combine to make this dishcloth a little thicker and nubbly for washing dishes!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
A dishcloth designed with a dear friend of mine in mind. She LOVES cardinals!!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
The finished dishcloth weighs 50 gr and measures 9 1/2”W x 8 3/4”H. It basically took the whole ball of yarn, as I only had just over a yard left.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Although my yarn of choice is Bernat Handicrafter Cotton, I have used a ‘nameless’ cotton yarn that I found at a thrift store for the main colour of my dishcloth.
Knitting: Scrubber
I have adapted this scrubbie pattern from the Mini Almost Lost Washcloths (or Makeup Removal Cloths) pattern by Sandy Tieman. As far as I can tell, her pattern is not on Ravelry but it can be found online.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This Halloween Dishcloth weighs in at 42 gr (39 gr brown/3 gr yellow) and measures 9 1/4”W x 9”H.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
The Twisted Tree stitch incorporated into my pattern is from The Essential Stitch Collection by Lesley Stanfield & Melody Griffiths.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This cloth can either be used as a dishcloth or as a hot pad under your tea pot. I have designed a matching scrubbie or coaster to go with either one or the other.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
The finished measurements for this dishcloth are 9 1/4” square and it weighs 41 g.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This dishcloth was designed to coordinate with my Gardener’s Companions Coaster set. The pattern is written to be knit with just one colour. I only inserted the green border so that the dishcloth would match the coaster set.
Knitting: Coaster
Lalybags, in France, suggested that I design a set of coasters to coordinate with my Watering Can dishcloth. It’s been some time, but finally here they are!!
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
The finished dimensions are 9 1/2 “ W x 9” H and the dishcloth weighs 41 g.
Crochet: Containers
My youngest daughter designed this decorative pot to put her solar dancing flower in. She crochets with a tight tension and used a size 6 mm hook; I tend to work much more loosely and used a size 3.5 mm hook. The best way to check your tension is to work the bottom of the pot and check to see it is the correct diameter.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
To knit this little giraffe dishcloth, you will need one 50 g ball of 100% cotton worsted weight yarn. Finished size is 9” W x 9 1/2” H (23cm X 24.5cm)

This dishcloth is knit with 100% cotton knitted worsted weight cotton. One 50 g ball is required.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
The yarn required for this pattern is knitting worsted weight 100% cotton. I used a ball of Bernat Handicrafter cotton.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This pattern requires one 50 g ball of 100% cotton worsted weight yarn.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This Wizard dishcloth has been especially adapted from my Simple Witch dishcloth for Ravelry member quiltfroeschli because she posted a dishcloth knitted from my pattern as “Professor Dumbledore”. I had no idea who that was and had to ask my daughter. Then I realized that he would not have a pointed hat nor a broom. It only took a bit of rework...
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
One 50 g ball of knitting worsted weight 100% cotton yarn is needed for this dishcloth.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth

Knitting: Scrubber
Many thanks to Brooke, who designed the original Fishy Fish Washcloth, and gave me permission to ‘lift’ her design for my version.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This dishcloth used 46 grams to complete and its finished measurements are 10 x 9 3/4” .
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
I had enough yarn left from the 50 gr. ball of yarn to make a matching scrubbie.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
There should be enough yarn left over to make a matching scrubbie, using Bernat Handicrafter 50gr ball of yarn.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This dishcloth was inspired by one of my six sisters, who is a dedicated coffee drinker. She requested a coffee mug dishcloth after seeing, and loving, my tea cup dishcloth. I had enough yarn left-over from the 50gr ball of worsted weight yarn to make a matching scrubbie.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Because I am a loose knitter, I chose a smaller size needle to help show the detail in the pattern. I had enough yarn left from the 50 gr. ball of 100% cotton worsted weight yarn to knit a matching scrubbie.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This dishcloth will use almost all of a 50 gr. ball of 100% cotton knitted worsted weight yarn.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Because of the ‘joey’ detail, it is important to make sure that you have a fairly tight tension with the yarn. I am a loose knitter and decided that 3.25 mm needles would work best with this pattern. There should be enough yarn left of a 50 gr. ball of 100% cotton worsted yarn to make a matching scrubbie.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This dishcloth pattern will use almost all of a 50 gr. ball 100% cotton worsted yarn.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
One 50 gr. ball of 100% cotton knitting worsted weight yarn is needed for this dishcloth.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth

I LOVE the double knitting pattern posted on Ravelry by Marcia’s Country Doubles but wanted to use it for a textured dishcloth, so I adapted it for my purposes. Marcia has kindly given me permission to post my version of her pattern, for which I am most appreciative. Her pattern can be found at:
