Every year I like to start January with a lovely, easy, relaxed blanket.

The Charlie shawl is inspired by one of the most romanticized periods of Scottish History, Bonnie Prince Charlie’s escape after the defeat of Culloden in 1745.

The aim of this blanket was to use natural fibres and to create an array of tonal suffuse pale hues without using a lot of different colours and making the blanket prohibitively expensive!

If you want to make something that is not too challenging or time-consuming, a little project to enjoying between other works in progress, or a quick present to give to a loved one I think the Tyrolean table set is a great option.

As you probably already know I am Italian but I have been living in Scotland for nearly 30 years…
