Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This beanie is inspired by the work of Basquiat, a modern artist of the 1980s using gridding techniques by Felicity Ford (Felix) in her Knit Stars Season 6 workshop of “Live Colorfully”. The construction of this beanie is knitted in the round as follows:
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
The Slouchy Beanie originally emerged from a purchase of only one skein of a worsted weight yarn and the desire to showcase it as a quick, simple, and relaxing item. Slouchy beanies are a trendy way to display a favorite skein of yarn. The Slouchy Striped Beanie was a solution to using two remaining balls of yarn in compliments of each other be...
Knitting: Food Cozy
This ice cream cozy is inspired by the desire to eat ice cream straight out of the pint, but to enjoy the delicious treat in comfort by not having cold hands.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This beanie is inspired by a collaboration project color chart created in fall 2022 by one of my English Language Arts students – Emma. The construction of this beanie is knitted in the round as follows:
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
These mittens are knit in the round with dk or worsted weight yarn with two options for the thumbs. Pattern requirements are knit stitch, purl stitch, knitting two together, and knitting a stitch through the front and back loop for an increase. My preferred method is using double pointed needles, or a 9” pair of circular needles.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
These mittens were developed as a partner to the slouchy beanie pattern intended to provide more warmth than wrist warmers, but to still allow use of fine motor skills without restriction from gloves or full mittens. Using worsted weight yarn allows the mittens to protect the covered part of the hands from cool breezes and temperatures.

Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This is a slouchy beanie knit in the round and with a double brim. The outside brim is knit in stranded color work from a design inspired by the modern artist Basquiat’s piece titled “Melting Point of Ice.”
Knitting: Coaster
This is a drink mat, or coaster, knit in garter stitch flat holding three strands of yarn together. Suggested yarn is cotton for at least one of the strands to serve the purpose of absorbing any condensation or liquid from the drinks placed upon them. I encourage you to use your creativity in color use.
