With the simplest possible lace pattern, these socks knit up beautifully in any hand-dyed or self-patterning sock yarn.

The photo shows Briggs and Little Durasport sock yarn, hand-dyed by a friend. Any of the sock yarns work great - I’ve knitted this pattern in Kroy, Lana Grossa, Noro, and many other sock yarns.

I designed this vest to use yarn from a small mill in Northern Ontario. However, lopi-style yarn works great, as do other chunky yarns, especially ones with little twist.

The finished bags are about 4 inches square. There are charts for five different motifs for the front of the bag: the moose, the star, the heart, the tree and the ladybug.
