Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Inspired by the rose window of the Cathedral of Saint Paul, the Cathedral Hill Cap pairs a hand-painted yarn with a contrasting solid to stunning effect.

I love mixing gradient and solid yarns in colowork. The results are always interesting. This pattern started as a quick test of a geometic chart that I had randomly doodled in my charting app, and I liked where it was going. When I stood back from it, I realized it looked like doorways. Then again, sometimes it looks like lanterns. It’s like cl...
Knitting: Chart
I’ve been referring to these charts as the expansion pack for the Islington Jumper because they really are just meant to be used in conjunction with the original Islington Jumper pattern. Truth be told, I always had the idea of knitting a holiday sweater for myself, but like many knitters I just never found the time. This year I decided to sche...
Knitting: Beret, Tam
Where is Frostbite Falls, Minnesota? The hometown of Rocky and Bullwinkle may be fictional, but the Tam named for it is very real. Cast on in two colors (or more if you’re adventurous) and knit up this cozy tam in no time flat.
Knitting: Cowl
Mozaika is a mosaic stitch cowl that is knit flat and seamed to form a bandana-style cowl. Pick two colors: one for the sawtooth edge and dots, and the other for the background. A color-changing gradient like Feederbrook Farm Entropy DK is the perfect way to add a pop of color.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Line By Line is a two-color, textured, asymetric shawl that is a great way to showcase a solid and gradient yarn combination. Simple increases and stitches make this shawl a great project for adventurous beginning knitters.

Just one skein and one night is all you need for this slouchy cap. The brushed suri makes it light as a feather, so you won’’t have horrible hat head when you take in off. Wear it slouchy as photographed or cuff it up to be a cute beanie. It’s your choice.

This stranded hat started out as a test for the Proud As A Peacock Capelet. I wanted to see if I liked my chart for peacock feathers. Turned out I did, and I liked the hat that resulted. I got to play with a little bit of two-color brioche in the brim and indulge my love of stranded knitting.

There’s nothing more lovely and picturesque than a stroll through the snowy woods. I love the peace and quiet that accompanies my steps through new-fallen snow as I wander down the trails. If you find yourself in a snowy woodland wonderland, bundle up, and heed your mom’s advice, “Put a hat on! It’s cold out there.”

Let me start by saying, that I absolutely loved this pattern in it’s original form. It just needed a little oomph( an articulate adjective, I know). The Princeton Capelet is an original design by Sylvia Hager for Blue Sky Fibers using their newest yarn, Eco-Cashmere.
Knitting: Cuffs, Cowl
Tweed and herringbone are the perfect combination. It was the yarn that really inspired these two designs. I fell in love the the House Of A La Mode House DK Tweed as soon as I laid eyes on it. I knew I had to design something stranded with it.
Knitting: Cowl
Knit in worsted weight wool, Rayonner is created when cables converge. Purls diminish as you knit, and the cables come together to create a cozy cowl, verging on capelet.
Knitting: Cowl
This cozy, cabled cowl takes its name from the two colorways used -- Earl Grey and Darjeeling. Mrs. Moon Plump is especially satisfying to knit with, not just because it’s bulky and knits up quickly, but also because the yarn is so amazingly soft and lofty. You want your cowl to be soft and cozy -- not a stiff neck brace -- so if you choose a d...
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This cap combines two of my favorite textures: brioche and basketweave. I love the idea of knitting with two colors in two different textural techniques, and the finished product looks more complicated that it actually is. If you love two-color brioche in the round and want to try two-color cables, this cap is for you. You can top it off with a...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This cozy wrap is a one skein wonder that works up in no time flat. The self-striping yarn makes you look like a colorwork genius and makes the chevron pattern pop. The pattern is easy to memorize so you can knit and Netflix to your heart’s content.
Knitting: Scarf
This asymmetric shawl plays with texture by knitting with two yarns held together for the garter stripes and a single lace weight for the stockinette stripes.
