Knitting: Cowl
A comfy cowl with an interesting stitch pattern that uses a knit one below technique to create richly textured ribbing. The ends are joined with a three needle bind off. A slipped stitch at the beginning of each row finishes the edges as you go.

Pattern includes a slouch hat with a short stocking cap and a variation for a square top, a cowl or headband pattern, a scarf, and mitts in sizes extra small to extra large. Crochet: Cloche Hat
The black felted hat below is crocheted using a single strand of Lamb’s Pride Bulky with a size K crochet hook. It features turquoise trim and a flower both made using Berroco’s Sundae (Super Bulky) and a size J hk.

Knitting: Cloche Hat
Note on Needles: This hat can be done on double pointed needles entirely, or on a circular 16” until you get to the very end. Then you have to switch to dou-ble pointed needles as there are so few stitches. If you are familiar with the “magic loop” method of knitting, you can use a 40” circular for the entire hat.

Super easy crocheted hat with a flower. The hook determines the size - goes from newborn at 15” to child at 20” in head circumference.
Knitting: Earwarmers, Headband
This pattern is knit and a single crocheted edging may be applied. It closes with a button and a loop - or you may choose just to seam it shut with a three needle bindoff. It includes a pattern for a simple crocheted flower.

Smaller sizes use a single strand of yarn, a size 3 knitting needle and a size D crochet hook. Larger sizes use a double strand of yarn, a size 8 knitting needle and a size G crochet hook. You can also substitute a worsted for the double strand of DK.
