Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This 2-skein shawl is designed to be mostly “mindless” so you can knit & chat with your friends, watch Netflix, or whatever! It’s simple enough for a beginner’s first shawl, and advanced knitters might be able to knit the whole thing without looking at your stitches. I love knitting with friends, and this shawl lets me knit away in happiness!
Knitting: Cowl
The Cumberland Mountain Cowl was inspired by the iconic bridge that spans Byrd Lake. Arches under the bridge are reflected by the slow-moving water of the lake, creating the oval shapes you see in the cowl. In the ribbing, I have used a mock broken rib stitch that reminds me of the reeds and grasses on the banks of the lake.
Knitting: Headband
Stretchy headband, knit in-the-round, seamless, in either worsted or fingering weight yarn.

Pretty much all winter, you’ll find my mom, Debbie, wearing a cozy knit hat to ward off the wind and the chill. Often, they’re ones my sister has crocheted, or I have knit. Growing up in Southwest Virginia & Northeast Tennessee, we called these hats “toboggans”. I know that confuses our northern neighbors, but that’s just what we call them.
