This shawl was originally planned for Nancy’s book, Knitted Lace of Estonia, but space was tight. The central heart motif was designed in the 1930s in Haapsalu, Estonia where it decorated a shawl that was given to the film diva. This modern pattern is similar to those knit in Estonia today.
