Here is a lovely little circular coaster, inspired by the many-petaled blooms of the peony. This pattern entirely uses basic stitches that are familiar to beginners, but it yields an intricate-looking result.

These little sun and crescent moon motifs are designed to be companions of each other. They result in the same finished size size, so that they can be combined together into a larger project.

I was looking for a crochet heart motif with a circular center and textured stitches. Since I couldn’t find one, I designed it myself!
