This is a shaped washcloth. Gauge is relatively unimportant in this project. Use whatever size yarn and needles gives you the a fabric and washcloth size that you like.

I wrote up this pattern to use as a second knitting project for a church group of pre-teens who were learning to knit. If you know how to knit and know how to purl, the pattern should take you through the steps needed to make this hat, including knitting in the round, and three different kinds of decrease stitches.

This blanket was designed for a coworker who delivered a 2 pound preemie baby boy. I wanted to make sure that he (and the nurses that cared for him) knew that he is special.
