Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Shawlidarity is a top-down triangle shawl, with wings worked in short rows. Pattern as written works for DK or worsted weight, although it includes a tip for making your shawl larger or smaller if you decide to use a different weight. Don’t sweat the gauge!
Crochet: Throw
“Lighthouse is a C2C crocheted throw blanket inspired by a painting seen in HBO Max’s piratical rom-com Our Flag Means Death. The lighthouse is a symbol of a guiding light, but also a warning against self-destruction.
Crochet: Beanie, Toque
This is a crochet copycat version of a hat worn by Oluwande (portrayed by Samson Kayo) in the fantastic HBO (a)historical romcom “Our Flag Means Death.” It features a rolled brim, a geometric tapestry design, and a negative-ease-fit. Think of it as a little sampler. Don’t sweat the gauge or if you get confused by the weird elongated cables. Just relax and have fun with some beautiful yarn and something fresh in each section to keep you from getting bored.
Knitting: Necktie
When I want to experiment with a new stitch pattern or technique, I grab some scrap yarn and make a bow tie. That’s what happened when I wanted to learn the herringbone stitch. I loved how it turned out so much, I had to write it all down.
Knitting: Cowl
This cowl was inspired by the fluffy ring of fur seen on some moths (the cryptozoologically interested will see where the name comes from).
Knitting: Necktie
If you’ve ever seen me in the shop I work in, or at a trade show, you’ll be familiar with my love of bowties. Especially during those muggy summer months when I really want to wear knits, but just can’t survive a shawl or sweater. This is the project that uses up all those lovely little scraps that are too small for anything else but too good t...
