I thought it might be fun to design something for the adventuresome knitter who would enjoy pursuing some of the possibilities of
Knitting: Scarf
This pattern is written for fingering weight yarn and size 6 needles. You can achieve a smaller or larger effect by changing your needle size and/or weight of yarn. The gauge is 5 sts = 1” on size.
Knitting: Scarf
I wanted to offer a free pattern as both an introduction to knitters unfamiliar with my designs and a thank you to all the loyal knitters who have been collecting my patterns for years. I am really pleased with the result, and I hope you are as well.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This feminine little capelet is just the thing to throw over your shoulders on a cool evening. Each row of the pattern is spelled out for you for ease and accuracy in working the design. The gauge is 4 ½ sts = 1” on a size 7 needle with DK yarn.
Knitting: Coat / Jacket
Many knitters asked me to design a roomy, bat-winged jacket with diagonal motifs similar to those of La Mariposa, so I came up with this one-size-fits-most design in the Not Just Plain Jane style. True to its name, La Mariposa begins as an unlikely combination of pieces, and evolves from its cocoon in your hands into a majestic butterfly! Like ...
Knitting: Poncho
Using a size 9 needle (or whatever size you like) and your choice of fiber, knit this diminutive, fashionable poncho in a gauge of 4 sts = 1” (due to all the YO’s). Make one to fit everyone from a size 0 on up! Your gauge will determine the size of your finished poncho. Knit loosely to emphasize the openness of the lace.
Knitting: Cowl
These scarves and cowls, cousins to the Lucky Rock Beachcomber Shawls (also available from Not Just Plain Jane Knits) feature cable and lace motifs. You can do yours in one color, or two versions of multicolor. The choice is yours! No matter which version you choose, you certainly won’t be bored!
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This sumptuous sweep of lace is actually a teardrop shape when laid out flat. Worked from the top down and crocheted off in the traditional manner, it is truly fun to make and to wear. Its unusual shaping will keep it securely around your shoulders, and the drape of it provides eye-catching movement as you walk. Knit yours in cotton, silk, wool...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
It’s tricky creating a crescent-shaped shawl with the perfect gentle curve and enough length and contour to lie perfectly on the body.
Knitting: Pullover
This design features a scoop-neck sleeveless shell or sweater with short, three-quarter, or long sleeves and feminine, flattering floral trim (optional). In addition, this pattern is quick and easy to knit up. Choose solid color, or use shading in your appliqué flowers for added dimension! For best results, please follow all instructions exactly.
Knitting: Purse / Handbag

Gauge is 6 sts = 1” on a size 4 needle with DK yarn. The finished purse (blocked and with edging) meas...
Knitting: Throw
Whether you choose solid, color-blocked, or multicolor, this will undoubtedly be one of the most challenging afghans you’ll make. Like its sweater-cousin, Smorgasbord and Extreme Smorgasbord, this 38” X 58” (worsted) or 45” X 70” afghan (chunky) will surely keep you interested. You will need 31” and 60” #8 circular needles and a cable needle.

This could very well be your grandmother’s stocking! Indulge your passion for multitextured knitting with this delightful, challenging project. Each row is spelled out for you for ease and accuracy in working the design. This stocking pattern is written in one size. Gauge is 6 sts = 1” in light sport weight yarn on a size 6 needle.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Simple knits, purls, and make-ones are all you need to create this lovely shawl that can be worn backwards as a cowl. This piece was knitted in sock weight yarn in a gauge of 5 sts = 1” on a size 6 needle. You can certainly knit it in a heavier yarn for a bigger shawl. There’s an optional Fancy Edging for the more adventurous knitter, too.
Knitting: Cape
This flattering design, part of the Vine Divine collection, fits everyone and looks great in either one color or many. For best results, please follow all instructions exactly. To alter the size, change your gauge by using a different weight yarn, different size needles, or both.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap

Knitting: Cowl
Deceptively quick and easy to make, The Geometrical Fugue Cowl and Wrist Warmers are projects I know you will find worthwhile.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Meet the smaller, more casual little sister of the circular Renaissance Shawl! Like its older sister, it is worked from the top down and crocheted off in the traditional manner. It can be worn several ways, and will stay securely around your shoulders. Knit yours in sock, sport, or DK yarn. I used a size 6 (or 7 if you’d like a larger shawl) ci...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
I chose these particular motifs for this great-fitting shawl in order to achieve a textured appearance. This pattern has enough stitch variation to hold the interest of the more advanced knitter, yet the motifs are not too difficult for a knitter on an intermediate level. As with all my other designs, I have provided clear, detailed directions....
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Lusciously drapey, this romantic shawl, knitted in sock, DK, or worsted weight yarn, is surprisingly simple to knit. It is sure to be the focal point of your outfit.
Knitting: Cowl
This labyrinthine design will add pizzazz to any casual outfit! Here is what you will need:

Knitting: Cardigan
I gave this sweater a lot of thought before realizing that the only way I could achieve the desired effect was to literally turn the whole thing on its ear, and begin at the top and work down to the lower edge. I am really pleased with the result, and I hope you are as well.

I thought that it would be fun to design something for the adventuresome knitter who might enjoy a foray into the area of multidirectional knitting. This jacket, admittedly quite challenging, is surprisingly straightforward and foolproof, if you follow the instructions exactly. Make yours in one solid color for a more classic look, or go multit...

Knitting: Coat / Jacket
This pattern is an adaptation of one of my most popular designs, The Vine Divine, a two-piece dress with a variety of tops: a vest, a cardigan, and a pullover, with a choice of four different sleeves. Since the tops for the dress are all quite fitted, several knitters asked if I could come up with a loose-fitting jacket that might include many ...
Knitting: Cowl
I wanted to create some sort of head covering or scarf in the Not Just Plain Jane style; thus evolved a Trillium-type wimple which I named The Trymple – different, cozy, and, I think, very attractive and versatile. Pull it on over your jacket or coat as a hooded shawl/scarf that will not come unwound, tuck it inside your jacket for added warmth...
