I liked the wrong side of this stitch as well as I liked the right side. You might, too. When you complete the leg, look around at the wrong side and decide if you want to continue with the right side out, or with it facing inwards.

This stitch pattern is really a mistake gone right. I picked out a likely looking image from my Japanese stitch dictionary, charted it, and then knit the socks with a band heel.
