Reminiscent of a garden filled with blooming lilies, the shawl is based upon the beautiful stitch collection by Chie Kose. The alternating sections of lace and cable create delicate petal like designs across the body of the shawl. The edge lined with cables and pulled into peaks mirrors the slightly crinkled edge of the Incan lily.

The morning glory stitch is classy and complex. Two leaves framing a flower bulb all hanging down like flowers on the vine; but the stitch pattern is worked on right and wrong sides of the shawl requiring a bit of faith and counting to make sure stitches are lining up correctly. Twining Leaves comes from the inspiration of watching the climbing vines and tendrils of the morning glory and pole bean plants grow in my backyard.
