This is a free pattern for a pentagram “square” I made in order to create a top (pictured on the pattern page). The pents can be used to create cute tops, Afghans, etc! The squares are about 4-5 inches across when finished.

I used Yarnspirations’ Caron Cotton Cakes in the color of Calico Flowers. Or you can use any Medium weight yarn - you will probably want at least 3 colors. Including fringe, this took approximately 250 yards.

I have made this butterfly using several methods; using a variegated yarn produces lovely patterns and colors. For the butterfly on the front of this pattern, I used 8 skeins of Caron Simply Soft yarn or other worsted weight yarn. You will need approximately 200 yds.
