This is the recipe I used for my bug mittens and my sons’ squirrel and pirate mittens.

Pattern should fit 4 weeks to about 5 months though it will be a touch large on the 4 week olds. Next size up can be achieved by using a larger needle and increasing the length of the foot slightly.

This was my grandmother’s pattern that she used to knit rabbits to sell at her local craft shop. They’re about 6” tall plus ears. A very cute gift for a new baby. You could use baby safe eyes instead of embroidering if you’d prefer.
