This is the adult version of the earlier published Hawl for kids. That one turned out to be quite popular (at least as from the amount of downloads that I get) and there were quite a few peeps asking for an adult version. So, here it is :)

All credits to the person who deserves them: my firstborn was the one coming up with the idea for this pattern. He asked me for “a hat that can also be worn as a cowl”. We sat down, he explained what that really meant and I dove in my stash and knitted what he was looking for. This is how we invented the “hawl”.
