Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Any worsted weight yarn in two contrasting, solid colors will do for this project. I would not recommend a variegated yarn. I wanted to make a classic argyle pattern that beginning knitters would be able to tackle. I have knit around six of these so far, and haven’t tired of the pattern. I hope others enjoy this project as much as I do!

Au ♥ Moku Nui is Hawaiian for I ♥ Big Island (which is my home). Not all of Hawaii is sandy beaches. Whether I’m standing on Mauna Kea, visiting Volcano National Park, or just having my morning coffee on the lanai, staying warm is a must!

The State flower of Hawaii is actually the yellow hibiscus, but I prefer the red. Even so, the changing of the colors is a personal choice, and whatever the knitter wants, the knitter does! This hat uses two colors, and while I have used the traditional Hawaiian colors of yellow and red, the possibilities are endless.
