Knitting: Ankle Sock
Smilodon has been on my mind for a long time, I love these pawprints, they make me giggle every time I made one! To top that off my two cats just love walking all over me whenever I knit and so I decided to design a sock that would have little paws walking all over them. The name Smilodon comes from the magnificent saber-toothed cats of the Pli...
Knitting: Cowl
This möbius cowl was designed to be a simple introduction to the art of “planned pooling”, where you knit a piece of fabric at just the right width to make the colours line up and “pool”. This technique can create simple bands of colour or elaborate argyle patterns; for some amazing examples go to www.plannedpooling.com/ or www.ravelry.com/grou...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
I am extremely lucky to be one of the few PhD students that get to pick the area where I want to do my field work, for two summers now I have spent ~3 weeks in the small town of Gosau in the Austrian Alps. Everyday, on the way to my field site I pass by the beautiful glacial lake, Gosausee. When I saw this yarn in the local Austrian knitting sh...

These two-color stranded mittens evolved from a desire to see the stars and snowflakes again. Knitting: Gloves
This pair of long opera gloves was inspired by Sivia Harding’s beautiful Queen of Beads socks in the January 2009 Kit from the Rockin’ Sock Club. All credit for this beautiful beaded pattern should go to Sivia! The alteration to gloves was my addition.
Knitting: Scarf
This tie began as a funky striped yarn that was just begging to be made into a snake. The snake, knit from the tongue to the tail (in the round), was originally gifted as a child’s scarf, but after Daddy snatched up the snake up for Wacky Tie day, his full potential was realized. And so (thanks to Aaron Visser) I give you Monty the Python!
