The Ontario Socks Pattern for the Canadian Sole Socks Series. I started these thinking about how Ontario was so many things, a big multicultural urban Mecca, but also home to some of the prettiest wilderness and scenery you’ve ever seen. Then COVID-19 happened. I like to think of this pattern as my “Ontario Multicultural Feel Better Happy Pande...

Newfoundland and Labrador, if you’re like me you think of the Beothuk. You might think of the Atlantic Ocean, or the thirty minute time zone difference.

British Columbia. The Pacific Coast. Mountains, rainforest, desert, ocean, and beaches. The province that has everything. When I think of B.C. These socks were inspired by the Wood Buffalo National Park, home to one of the largest heard of buffalo.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
These socks were inspired by the province of Nova Scotia and its rich musical heritage. The pattern swirls around the sock lending itself to self striping, semi-solid, and even variegated yarns.

The flying V pattern was inspired by my stash of beautiful variegated yarn. This pattern is simple, easily memorized, and works with both solid and variegated yarns.

Bloodletting is a triangular shawlette featuring blood drop lace, fishnet mesh, and an easy garter edge for stability. The pattern is charted. While thematically it was done for Halloween, there is year round appeal. The pattern would be best for intermediate knitters who have a grasp of chart reading.
