Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
My Shawl Starters, Set 2 patterns, now in progress, feature identically reversible rib patterns in a boomerang shape. Ribs compliment the boomerang shape with its diagonal shape and their lines. This Half Twisted Ribs pattern, from Set 2, uses a marl technique where two yarns are held together. I chose the lovely 3 ply natural marl and solid co...
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This is a soft heart-shaped cloth, with a bit of an origami look. It features garter stitch with a smooth, wrapped edge. The 6” size makes the washcloths stackable and attractive to present, as well as being practical.
Knitting: Cowl, Mittens
My collection of designs called GivingKnits were created especially for gifts and donations. They are warm, unisex, a generous one size and easy to knit. Using two strands of worsted weight yarn held together, the mittens are dense and sturdy and the neck warmer is fluffy and soft. The one ply yarns stick together and make a warm fabric.

Shawl Starters - Almost Triangles and Gentle Crescents
Knitting: Cowl, Beanie, Toque
My goal was to write two patterns from which I could quickly make many items for winter gifts and donations. After I knit a few, I had the patterns memorized! Well, almost.
Knitting: Afghan block
Knit flat with cables, garter and stockinette stitches, this motif highlights a smaller square suited for worsted to aran weight yarns. Familiar in forest themed and rustic throws, afghans and garments, the cabled owl is unembellished in this design. The stockinette owl sits atop a reverse stockinette background and is centered within a 6” squa...
Knitting: Afghan block
Knit flat with garter and stockinette stitches, this is a reversible heart motif centered in a 6” square for worsted to aran weight yarns. It is shown knit on size #8 needles with Peace Fleece Worsted yarn.
Knitting: Afghan block
Knit in the round from the center out, this design highlights a smaller motif square suited for worsted to aran weight yarns. Its solid stockinette leaves sit atop a plush garter stitch background. In contrast to the lighter traditional lace versions, the Embossed Leaf Motif has a more rustic botanical look, perfect for a frequently used blanket.
Knitting: Beret, Tam
A companion piece to my Wintry Blue Ponchette, this beret is knit in the round from the double roll band to the nub. This design highlights lighter weight bulky yarn and has a flat profile for storage and travel. It features classic style in stockinette stitch with a crown shaping detail. The beret is my favorite warm and comfortable winter hat.
Knitting: Poncho
Intrigued by the differences in several yarns labeled “Bulky”, I was inspired to create a design especially for the lighter bulky weight. It has the advantage of having drape and a moderate thickness, allowing it to be worn over or under an outer garment. Also, for travel, the Ponchette folds and fits in less space than a heavier bulky garment....
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves, Cuffs
Knit in the round from wrist to fingers, these elegant fingerless mitts are perfect for events in chilly venues. Their fitted style will keep your hands surprisingly warm. Instructions are given for four sizes, each in four different lengths. The classic lace stitch pattern, sometimes known as feather, fan or shale, creates curving borders natu...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Quickly becoming one of my favorite indoor wraps, the Sandstone Pocket Wrap is a comfortable accessory that is knit in one piece from pocket to pocket. The two stitch I-cord edges and strategic use of garter stitch allow it to lie flat with attractive braid-like side borders. The pockets are folded up and seamed according to detailed instructio...
Knitting: Tee
Knit flat from side to side, this positive eased, boxy, caftan-like, tee sweater uses the Moxie-Mesh Stitch Pattern (© 2019), a new 6-row stitch pattern that I designed to be easy to remember, reversible and evenly structured with symmetrical edges. The sweater pictured, in size S/M, was knit in four colors, with a bateau neck and sleeveless ar...
Knitting: Poncho
I hope this will become one of your favorite designs, as it has with me. I have included in this pattern designs for four versatile garments, derived from a single basic pattern, thus the name Theme and Variations Cape-let. They are bigger than cowls and lighter than some ponchos. All contain mock cables and mock eyelet cables so no cable needl...
