Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This hat was created as an exploration of a new-to-me yarn. The colorwork motif reminds me of the gracefully curving petals of some orchid blossoms.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
When trying out a new-to-me yarn, I often make a hat. This design began as such an exploration. The simple geometric colorwork reminds me of Parquet de Versailles, the elegant wood mosaic pattern used as flooring in the historic French palace.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This hat has a bit of slouch and a jaunty angle built right in. Change up the look by wearing the hat with the slant to the front, to the back, or off to one side. Use just 2 colors or go wild with scraps of multiple colors for a unique look.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
I love design prompts. They provide both a jumping-off point and a set of constraints within which I can explore.

More than chocolate or roses or winged cherubs practicing archery, a box of pastel colored candy hearts is a symbol of Valentine’s Day! I find it impossible to put them in my mouth without reading them, and I love that the messages have been updated in recent years. You’d never have found “text me” on the conversation hearts of my childhood!

Knitting: Pullover
This pullover was designed to be as comfortable to knit as it is to wear. The colorwork pattern on the yoke and sleeves is rhythmic and repetitive. The long expanse of simple stockinette in the body and sleeves shows off a beautifully hand-dyed yarn.

The sinuous lines of traditional Celtic designs are a gift to the knitter. This pullover features two colorwork chain motifs framing a row of Celtic love knots, which are formed with two entwined hearts.
Knitting: Pullover
This design arose from a question – How can I take a band of colorwork and orient it vertically on a sweater, instead of the usual horizontal yoke or body positioning?
