Max’s Mitts is inspired by Max, the shop dog at Susan’s Fiber Shop, https://www.susansfiber.com/. It was written for a January/February 2024 KAL sponsored by Susan’s Fiber Shop.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Almost every afternoon I take an exercise hike at a large camp ground across the highway from my neighborhood. Near one corner of the property there is a gorgeous Tulip Poplar, scientific name Liriodendron tulipifera. As far as I’m concerned it is the most spectacular tree at the camp. SKA Mystery Sock for May 2014. This “mock” is inspired by this months flora/fauna theme, but when you list your cast on post you should indicate that you are knitting the May 2014 Mystery Sock or “mock.”

This is the July Mock (mystery sock) for SKA. Two sizes are available - 60 stitches and 70 stitches. The sock will have average stretchiness, so pick the stitch count that is closest to what you would usually knit.

This pattern is designed to show off the hugely popular self-striping yarns. Contrasting heels are used to maintain the stripe pattern across the top of the socks. The contrasting yarn is striped with the main color on the toe just for fun!
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
I wear fingerless mitts indoors in the winter because our house is cold. These mitts would be appropriate for an advanced beginning knitter and are a good stepping stone to knitting socks.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This would be a great pattern for a new knitter who knows how to knit and purl and is looking for a first lace pattern or a first triangle shawl pattern. It uses a feather and fan lace pattern so it looks interesting but isn’t hard. It is worked with DK weight yarn so it isn’t fussy and works up pretty fast - also a bonus for new knitters.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
This is the January 2009 Socktopia Mystery Pattern. Clues will be posted once per week. This is a beaded sock, so please check the pattern for supply list.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Pattern written in honor of 2008 Summer Olympics. It is a mock cable “coin lace” stitch pattern and has cuff detail to remind one of Greek Columns. Used for the Socktopia Olympic challenge, but available to anyone else who wants to knit along.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
This pattern was inspired by Lime & Violet Podcast #50. One of Ms. Lime’s friends has a 9 year old son who concluded that Jesus was a Zombie because he rose from the dead. To me the stitch pattern looks like the mist in a monster movie - and you can almost see something coming at you. Not sure if it is a Zombie. Or one of Ms. Lime’s ghosts.
