“chota” means small in Hindi (छोटा: chōṭā pronounced ‘cho’ ‘ta’ (& “ta” as you’d say for ‘thanks’ in short :)).

Diya was the recipient of my ‘Baby Doll Scarf’ and she loved it so much that now that her grand mum’s visiting her shortly, I thought I’d whip up another one. She loves icecream and cupcakes.. so choice was easy.

This wrap has been inspired by a Lucknow kurta I saw recently.. a lovely, white, simple, A-line cut dress.. the design got my head a-spinning or a-crocheting!

The “inspiration” for this was a “kolam” (pronounced kõlaṁ) which is a form of painting that is drawn by using rice powder/chalk/chalk powder/white rock powder. A young girl was copying her mum, and her efforts, I thought were ‘photograph-worthy’ :)

Once again, it’s the easy peasy granny squares.. not sure why they’re called ‘granny’.. they’re old, sure.. but oh gosh! They’re invaluable.. oh, yep.. I see why they’re named “Granny” now !! :)

This scarf has an odd inspiration. I saw a printed design on the edge of a dress, and somehow thought it looked like the double-helical DNA.

This pattern has been inspired by the lovely ‘lazy-daisy’ stitch and the simplicity of the lovely daisy flower. In my mind’s eye, I see a lovely field of daisies slowly nodding their heads in the breeze all through this little kerchief. Hope you see it too, and enjoy wrapping this daisy kerchief around your neck.

This is a simple pattern that has been designed for sizes 5 - 10. S (5/6) ; M (7/8) and L (9/10).

If you look at this pattern closely, you see that on one side, the little white stitches are ‘holding hands’ and as are the little black sitches on the other side.. so all these little stitches seem to be dancing while ‘holding hands’!

cippikaḷ is “cockle shell” in Tamil“ in Tamil (சிப்பிகள்)

A kaju katli is a very tasty Indian diamond shaped sweet meat made from cashew nuts (kaju, in hindi). This scarf has been inspired by that delicacy. (Pronunciation : ‘ka-joo cut-lee)

This slim bag can be made in any size that suits the user, so the time it takes varies from half a day to a day – but it’s still a quick, lovely gift. The designer has used a polyester yarn to avoid lining it, but it can also be made in acrylic or other materials as well.

This bottle cozy has been tested for 750 ml and 1 litre bottles. It is worked from the bottom up - and easily adaptable for several sizes. Addition of contrast colour is optional.
