My grandmother Astrid digged through old photos and found this picture of her and my great-grandmother with a magnificent catch in the 60s. Grandma loves wild salmon and was thrilled when I started flyfishing back in 2014. She gladly joined me on trips to the river just for the sake of the journey.

The Astrid Headband is a fun little project. It can both slim down your yarn stash, and be a super nice gift. The headband weighs 30 g, so you only need 15 g of each color.

Yarn-stash-projects are so much fun, and this headband is perfect for it.

A female hiker in Norway is often referred to as a Fjellgeit. This headband is a good place to start, if you’re new to knitting. It’s worked in the round on a small circular needle.

Lubber are felted socks that can be customized as desired. The sock’s shaft should hit right below your knee, but you can choose the height yourself.

The word Fjellgeit means female hiker, in Norwegian. These mittens are a perfect little beginner project, and you only need 150 g of yarn to make them. They are inspired by the traditional Norwegian Selbu mittens.
