Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
While the stunning colors of the yarn tell most of the tale, the lace pattern keeps things fun and interesting. The 1x1 ribbing keeps these mitts snug, and they take just one skein! I had so much fun knitting them - I know I probably won’t be able to make just one pair! Happy knitting!
Knitting: Cowl
I absolutely fell in love with this yarn and wanted to do something cozy and squishy with it. This fun, one skien cowl is quick to knit and feels like wearing a cloud! The lace pattern is easy to master, and the yarn is held doubled so that the colors blend beautifully and it works well on a larger needle. It’s perfect for just about all skill ...
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
I fell in love with this lace stitch pattern years ago (hence the name, Obsession) and have used it several times in various projects. This shawl came about because I wanted to see how the lace would behave going in different directions in the same garment. In addition, because I have long been a fan of Sally Melville’s brilliant “Shape It!” sc...
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
When the amazing Gail Callahan asked me if I’d like to design something in her stunning Poet Seat DK, I knew it had to be something special, for the yarn and for her!! It took me WAY longer than it should have, but it’s finally here!! Thanks for your wonderful encouragement (and gentle prodding), Gail!! You are an incredible artist and friend, ...
Knitting: Cowl
A simple request for a cowl pattern sent me down the proverbial rabbit hole - first searching for one, then designing one! I had lots of fun searching around for yarns and swatching them, and finally came to the conclusion that I had to narrow it down to only four gauges. The yardage requirements for each are:
Knitting: Beanie, Toque, Fingerless Gloves
Inspired by Polly Harrington, the knitter who was my teacher and mentor for over ten years, this pattern was originally designed for a charity knitting event. I wanted something that would be accessible to most skill levels, preferences (flat or in the round), and sizes.
Knitting: Cardigan
This cardigan is worked in pieces from the bottom up then sewn together. The lace pattern along the center fronts creates its own buttonholes. The lace patterns appear in chart form only.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Knitting: Beanie, Toque, Fingerless Gloves
This pattern came into being for several reasons, not the least of which was my desire to support an amazing organization here in my adopted home of Northampton, MA. Safe Passage has been helping survivors of domestic violence and their children since 1977 by offering them hope, support and resources as they heal and rebuild their lives. Since ...
Knitting: Cowl
This stitch pattern was introduced to me by way of a project I knitted for my day job. I had so much fun with it, and it worked up so quickly that, once finished, I began to wonder how the stitch pattern might look in other yarns. I found two yummy skeins that were just begging to be knit together and began extrapolating the stitch pattern I ha...
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This pattern was originally designed at the request of one of my customers at Wool Basket Yarns. It sounded like a fun, quick project and I was happy to oblige! But I found I couldn’t knit just one, so… I created a trio of cloths that could be given as a set. The lace patterns are repetitive and easy and go together quite nicely if you elect to...

Knitting: Throw
Mitered Garden is the culmination of a long and wonderful journey, originally inspired by a gentleman whose wife passed away before she could finish the afghan she was knitting for him. The woman’s daughter brought the unfinished work to me and asked if I might be able to complete it as a gift from her to her mother’s husband. I have a hard and...
Knitting: Scarf
I have this theory that scarves should be reversible. With that in mind, I began playing around with various cable patterns and some yummy Caper Sock by String Theory Yarns and a couple of weeks later, Ripple Minor emerged on my needles!! Admittedly, she got off to something of a rough start, but I think she is still one of my favorite creation...
