Knitting: Pullover
Mary Jane is a seamless pullover with a lace yoke. It is named for my mother who is also quite beautiful. Because it is made in chunky alpaca, it knits up quickly and creates a flattering draped silhouette. The lace chart is my own creation, and I have found it useful for projects other than my sweater pattern. Try it for yourself in a knitted ...
Knitting: Cowl, Gloves, Headband
Blanche is a one size fits all headband, cowl and glove ensemble. My fashionista daughter assures me wide, knitted headbands are all the rage in both New York and Chicago. The cowl scarf is both simple and elegant, and who doesn’t need a basic glove pattern.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Ann is a traditional Faroese shawl. The whole time I was designing this shawl I kept visualizing it wrapped around Helga’s shoulders as she walked through the woods in the Andrew Wyeth’s painting of her.
Knitting: Cardigan
Colleen stands out because it features v-neck shaping on its entrelac front. Unlike many entrelac patterns, it is form fitting and flattering to many body types. It has the appearance of a hoodie vest with sleeves. Consider making it in one solid yarn or throw in a variegated yarn just for fun.
Knitting: Cardigan
Cupcake is a seed stitch children’s sweater knit in super bulky yarn. Sizes range from two thru five years of age. This is a lovely, fast and easy project. The sample was started one day early in the afternoon and was finished by bed time.
Knitting: Cape
Deirdre is one size fits all. It is the perfect little caplet to throw on as you run out the door. I posed the model holding a tea pot because this garment reminded me of a fuzzy little tea cozy for your body. The unique neck and body shaping make this caplet a must-knit project for the inquisitive knitter.
Knitting: Coat / Jacket
Jackie is a top - down swing coat. This means no seams and no sewing. If I say so myself, this pattern’s welt pocket and short-rowed sleeve construction are magical. Jackie is knits up into three finished bust sizes: 32 (36, 45).
Knitting: Shrug / Bolero
Jennifer is a sassy little bolero with 3/4 length sleeves. This is one quick knit. Perfect for last minute gift giving. It looks great on a variety of body types. I especially like the Colinette yarn I chose for the sample. It reminds me of the Children’s’ book The Rainbow fish. I have seen this sweater worked up in a solid yarn, and it is equa...
Knitting: Poncho
Joi is the perfect timeless fall outer wear accent for your wardrobe. I hesitate to call it a poncho because it is just as fashionable in the 2000 teen’s as it would have been in the 1960’s. The cabled cascading collar looks quite Elizabethan. Oh dear, let’s hear it for the 1500’s!
