While watching the old Gary Cooper movie “Mr. Deeds Goes to Town” I fell absolutely in love with windows in the background of the courtroom scene. Using them as my inspiration, I created this hat, which I now plan to use to teach the stranded Fair Isle knitting technique.

Knit in the round on double-pointed needles. Includes a chart. Travel through time and space not guaranteed, but it’s certainly worth a try.

A warm and cuddly cowl with alternating garter and yarn-over lace sections that knits up quick in a squishy bulky yarn. Use needles larger than those recommended for the yarn you choose so that the finished fabric will have a good drape.

This pattern was named for a sweet friend who has helped me immeasurably in my knitting career. Plus, she didn’t really think I would name this pattern after when she suggested I do so. This pattern has recently been updated to use fingering weight rather than worsted weight yarn, and I LOVE the results!

Something about the way this scarf knit up, especially with this fun red yarn, made me think of those ubiquitous molded plastic building blocks, and since it is being sent to the Red Scarf Project for college kids from foster homes, I think it’s an appropriate transition piece as these young adults enter a new stage of their lives.

A thinner, hipper version of my Brickworks Scarf (originally designed for the Red Scarf Project, one of my favorite charities) this infinity scarf will add a touch of color to your outfit and a touch of warmth to your neck. It knits up quickly and is fun to wear.

This pattern was written for my Charity Knit-a-Long making afghan blocks for blankets for the Carolina Youth Development Center, formerly Charleston Orphan House, which is celebrating 225 years of helping children this year.

This pattern takes my Framed Nine-Patch Dishcloth, and with only a few adjustments turns it into a quick knit baby gift, with knits and purls giving texture and a garter stitch border becoming a pair of straps.

A reworking of my original Framed 9-Patch Cloth, a simple knit and purl pattern that makes a fantastic washcloth/dishcloth. Knit more repeats in something soft to make a scrumptious scarf.

You’ll need: US Size 7 needles or size needed to achieve gauge of 5 sts = 1 inch; Worsted weight acrylic yarn. Finished size should be 7” x 9”.

Designed for the Red Scarf Project, but it would also make a great first bobble project or a lovely gift.
