Knitting: Cowl
The Echoscape Cowl is a cozy rib-knit cowl that flares at the base to fit snugly and be worn comfortably underneath a coat. It proves to be very cozy and warm when knit up in a thick yarn, and a pretty little adornment when knitted up in laceweight. In classical music, grace notes are bits of ornamentation included at the discretion of the musician, and which augment and personalize the music. The curve of the “upside-down collar” looks a bit like grace notes as written in sheet music, and its addition to the cowl adds to its style, complexity, and warmth.

Harnessing the pooling and striping in space-dyed yarn has been a mission of mine in the last couple of years. As I’m not a sock-knitter, I’ve wanted to find other ways to show off the beauty of hand-dyed yarns. Along my explorations of unstraightening straight lines, I’ve discovered how to force yarn to stripe and pool. Developing this piece h...
Knitting: Cape
The design for the Yoked Cycling Cape began as I rode my bike out to an appointment on a fall day last year. I wasn’t bundled up enough, and I knew exactly which areas needed more coverage! Also, I wanted to be able to un-bundle as I got warmer. Thus, a flexible design for a double-breasted turtleneck cape was conceived.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap

After knitting a gift with angora I wanted to design something new that was equally soft, with ample folds. The pairing of these two colors highlights the gentle undulations created by the fan & feather stitch, and the inclusion of 1x1 rib makes it a sumptuously warm fabric. It has a twist so that when worn double there is no twist.
