Padolyst is an archaic Ukrainian name for the month of November and I think it suits this design perfectly. There was no doubt in my head about this name once it came to me. Imagine it in shades of red/orange/yellow and you will have pure fall on your needles.

Laneus hat is a sister design to my Laneus pullover and Laneus shawl. From Latin “woolly”, it is a fitted beanie with folded brim, two sections of floral inlay colourwork and overall textured pattern, which matches the one on the previous designs. The hat is knit bottom-up in the round.
Knitting: Pullover
It is a playful romantic design, which features a colourwork pattern resembling stamens and petals, as if you are indeed wearing a flower on your shoulders.

Vinber from Icelandic “grape” or “wine berry” carries its name not only because of the main yarn colour I chose for my sample, but also because it is designed in a pure Icelandic wool.

My Christmas gift to the knitting community and a favourite go-to hat, that matches my Rebellious scarf
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Both the Javelin pullover and the Javelin shawl are about strength and resilience. A sort of body armour, they were born during the most difficult time in the history of Ukraine and Europe.

Silín ˈʃɪlʲinʲ from Gaelic means “cherry” and the name refers not only to the colour of the sample, but also to the colourwork pattern on the yoke. They might not necessarily be cherries if you take a closer look at the leaves, but those are definitely berries on little branches and I craved a cherry pie all the time I worked on it.
Knitting: Pullover
Inspired by the traditional Tree Of Life embroidery motifs, this round yoke pullover tells a story of its own, from roots to shoots. Poetic, isn’t it?
Knitting: Pullover
“Ornata” from Latin means “covered with ornaments” and I think the name suits this design very well. The design is very much inspired by traditional Ukrainian embroidered blouses, in which most of the embroidery is done on the sleeves. It might not be an everyday garment, but definitely a special one, especially for those of us coming from East...

Javelin was born during a very difficult time. On February 24th, 2022 Russia attacked Ukraine and the world as I knew it ceased to exist. I am Ukrainian and my whole family is back in Ukraine. To not fall apart I kept knitting.

Grass Whispers is a very eclectic design: with cables, ribbing, colourwork and stockinette stitch, — all in perfect balance. The pullover is worked top-down in the round with an optional mock neck and an easily customizable length. You can take a closer look at my sample and discover the design process in this podcast episode.

Nivalis is inspired by snowdrops, the first spring flowers coming from under the snow. The pullover is worked top-down in the round with a floral pattern around the yoke. The colourwork pattern can be worked as a simple stranded colourwork or as a more intricate pattern of floats. To get as close to a prefect fit as possible the pattern comes i...

The Finnish word Tuntu describes the feeling a texture gives you in your fingertips. Enjoy this comfort when you snuggle up in the Tuntu sweater and caress its soft surface. Feel the fine details of the cables and the slipped stitch chains on the hems and yoke. Appreciate the pleasant volume of the double stockinette bands that accentuate the t...

Of all the Nutiden colourways this one must be my favourite so far. It spent more than a year on my shelf before I knew what kind of special garment it should become.
Knitting: Pullover
After seeing this one ready, my husband said: “Finally, a proper sweater”, — which mostly refers to its “proper” length. I designed this dress picturing myself in a cozy cottage, cuddled near the fireplace, wearing nothing but this light cloud over my pjs. Had I picked a slightly different contrasting colour, maybe red, it would have been as Ch...
Knitting: Ankle Sock
I found myself on a sock knitting spree and just couldn’t stop. This chocolate bar like seed stitch pattern, I used for my Mama Bear Pullover is irresistible. And even when I had doubts, fellow Instagrammers voted to keep and finish this design. So I obliged. Hope you like it.
Knitting: Pullover
Light, yet warm and cozy, this pullover will protect you from anything that life and weather throws at you, like a mama bear protects her cub. With its delicate textured pattern, the pullover is very wearable and hits that sweet spot between romantic and casual.

This design tells a story of the yarn born on a tiny island in Scotland, in a house with a big sign “The Glenview”, home to Shilasdair yarns and dyers Kirsty and Simon. “Glen”, from Gaelic “valley”, is the source of inspiration behind this design. A peaceful landscape translated in colours and shapes of yellow grass and naked trees.
Knitting: Vest
This boxy generously oversized cropped vest is inspired by the forest. Despite it being a very simple design, there’s something very special in it for me, parts of my heritage and whimsical inspirations.

Dark Moss is inspired by the endless moss-covered landscapes of Ireland. The original sample, made in deep green rustic Irish yarn, is a tribute to this beautiful green island. This light cropped pullover is worked in a fingering weight mix of merino wool with linen. The pullover is worked top down in the round.

Imagine the tales an orchard might share. Michelle of Kokon yarn dyed these colourways inspired by my photo of a cherry tree orchard, full of greens and pinks and yellows, with spring in every drop of the dye. I planted beautiful flowers and a ginkgo tree in her orchard.

It is meant to be a very down to earth, simple pullover, which is easy to modify and adjust to fit anyone. It turned out every bit as beautiful and versatile as I hoped for.

Floral Kokon Blouse was born in collaboration with Kokon yarns. The name “Kokon” in many Slavic languages means “cocoon”, and so this design is: a beautiful floral cocoon, in which you’d want to hide from the outside world.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This kind of colourwork is very addictive, and I really wanted to integrate this technique into a smaller design piece. Colourwork beanies can be contemporary and stylish, right?

Autumn is here and I am desperately trying to preserve the spirit of summer. And I do not only mean preserving fruit and vegetables, I also collect flowers. Dried with their colours washed out, they will still be reminding me the beauty of their youth. I see this design as a bouquet of dried flowers. “Inflorescence” is a botanical term for a gr...

When I first saw the new collection of yarns by Caroline’s of Höner och Eir, I instantly fell in love with this deep warm orange. Mam’s cardigan (read “mom’s”) is a tribute to a cardigan designed and knitted by my mom years ago. I’ve had it for almost 5 year now and she wore the hell out of it for a decade before me. Trust me when I call it a truly timeless design.
