Some parts worked flat and joined; other parts worked in turned rounds

Inspired by the Rod of Asclepius, a symbol of healing, the entwined cables create a beautiful texture for this warm beanie. A perfect gift for the healer in your life.

Most parts are worked in the round (sleeves, body), though some portions are worked flat before being attached to form the round (first part of yoke, hood), and some are worked flat separately and then joined (hood trim, cord).

Worked in 3 sets of repeats (herringbone

This pattern uses 2 hooks to adjust for variations in gauge between the single crochets and the cable sections.

This scarf is designed to use two of the basic stitches in crochet: single crochet and double crochet.

This scarf is a companion to my original “Roots of Yggdrasil” pattern. Inspired by my mixed Norse and Gaelic heritage, I incorporate a lot of cable work to represent Nordic and Celtic symbols.
