Nice oval placemat that’s easy and fun to make.

The original blanket is made with 8/2 mercerized cotton. 350 Grams of yarn were used.

The original bag was worked in linen yarn with #0 needles. Any yarn and needle size can be used. If your book is larger, make a swatch of your yarn and thread and do some math. I included the numbers for the pattern repeats, so you can adjust the pattern for your own book.

Gauge is on #4US needle

This dickie is worked from the top down. After completing the collar, the front and back is worked using short rows. I’ve included how I work the rows, but you can use any method you are comfortable with, and there are many tutorials available on the internet
