The temperatures begin to fall, the winds take on a cooler feel, and our knitting hearts know that winter will be at our doorstep soon. When that time arrives each year, there is nothing I love more than making lots and lots of hats… for my family, for donations, or as gifts for the upcoming holiday season.

The Fancy Business Cowl is a simple double thickness cowl knit in a tube using five fingering weight 20 gram mini skeins. It features a provisional cast on followed by alternating stockinette and mosaic colorwork sections.

As a lover of both the outdoors and gardening, I spend quite a few hours outside in the spring and fall, pruning plants or doing other farm work. During these times I find fingerless mitts to be the perfect accessory, not too hot and not too cold. With these seasons in mind, I have designed the Spring Rainstorm Fingerless Mitts.

This simple knit pattern features alpaca yarn, known to be warmer, lighter, and softer than sheep’s wool, held double with a fingering weight yarn of your choice. It is cast on using a provisional cast on and then knit in a tube until you reach the end, at which time the ends are grafted together to turn the piece into a double wrapped infinity...

Created for the 2023 Berry Fun Yarns Advent Kit, this pattern includes two sizes — a lap blanket (large), using 25 – 20 gram mini skeins, and a wrap (small), using 25 – 10 gram mini skeins.
