Crochet: Beanie, Toque
This fun cat-ear beanie is worked from the top down and in the round, finished with fun color and texture details! Additional color stripes can be added if desired for a colorful custom look. The length can be adjusted as needed, but this hat style should fit with no slouch in order for the ears to stand up properly.
Crochet: Fingerless Gloves, Mittens
These heavily textured wool-blend mitts were designed to use up smaller amounts of 2 colors of yarn. With three sizes and both a full mitten and fingerless mitt option, you can stash-bust all day long and have a large pile for gifting or selling!
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This slip stitch slightly slouchy hat is a handy way to use a wild multicolored yarn that you might have been struggling with. When paired with a coordinating solid color yarn, the rhythmic pattern works well to break up any awkward pooling and the whole thing comes together like magic, ending with a star motif at the crown! The idea for this h...
Crochet: Beanie, Toque
A celebration of textured crochet stitches, this quick and cozy hat is perfect for the chilly season. Three fun stitch variations join together with color play to make this hat fun both to crochet and to wear! Photo tutorials are included for the special stitches.
Crochet: Toy Plant
These little mushrooms are a great way to use up odds and ends of leftover yarn. I used a small hook to make a small ‘shroom (my samples are 2.5-3” tall), but you could supersize yours if you’d like! Just make sure to use a hook 2-3 sizes smaller than recommended for you yarn, in order to make a tight fabric that won’t leak stuffing.
Crochet: Headband
I named this headband after the Columbia River, because the textured stitch pattern reminds me of choppy waves on windy days. Who doesn’t need an extra ear-warmer to take along on those outdoor adventures?
Crochet: Beanie, Toque
This trendy hat is worked in the round and uses only a couple of basic stitches, making it a great pattern for an adventurous beginner. The size can be easily customized, but in order for the ears to stand up, the hat must fit as a beanie (not a slouch). The fold-up brim allows for some flexibility in the length and for extra warmth. Make it in...
Knitting: Drawstring Bag
This versatile drawstring bag was designed one holiday season when I needed a special way to give a small gift. Instructions are given for worsted weight yarn, but any weight yarn can be used and the size can be adjusted to fit the occasion. This would also make a great scrap-buster - it would be adorable in stripes!
Crochet: Cowl
I was driving home with my daughter the other night, when a storm started and stopped within 10 minutes, leaving us with an absolutely gorgeous double rainbow, and me with an idea for a thick textured cowl with a single contrast stripe. Once I sat down to play with my yarn, I wrote this pattern which includes instructions for a scarf, a single ...

Crochet: Cowl
This cowl is formed from two interlinked rings of slightly different lengths. Recommend using a patterned (ombre, variegated, gradient, or other) yarn for one ring and a coordinating solid for the other. Either or both rings can have a mobius twist if desired. The rings can be worked at the same time and the width and length can be varied to ac...
Crochet: Coaster
This thrifty pattern was created from a desire to work through my large bin of cotton yarn, and make something easy and functional. These little coasters can use 1, 2, 3, or any number of colors depending on the desired look. There are two fringe construction methods presented, and neither requires weaving in a single end or running a color up ...

This pattern is designed to allow use of stash yarn - one color for the main body of the scarf, and as many colorful scraps as you’d like for the weaving part! Make one to match your favorite top, sports team, or school.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
These mitts were created years ago when I was on a trip to the beach. With limited supplies and no real idea of how to write a pattern, I made these up on the fly. I finally found the time to sit down and write out instructions and a chart, and to specify different sizes and a full mitten version. With a textured pattern on the back of the hand...
Crochet: Cowl
I’ve been working a lot of overnight shifts recently. Also called graveyard shifts, or third shift. In the wee hours of the morning, my mind will sometimes wander to crafting, and I began to dream of a textured, cozy, interesting but not too complicated cowl. Something that I could work on even when tired, and that I could cuddle up in when exh...

Two different basic versions are included, and the size is adaptable. Several strap and closure options are provided and beads, charms, or braids can be used for embellishments. Let your imagination run wild!!
Crochet: Beanie, Toque

Crochet: Throw
A walk in the park is a blanket pattern presented in 3 parts, meant to represent a park with a central pool or flower bed, a stone path, and a final floral border. There are three separate stitch patterns to coincide with the features.
Crochet: Fingerless Gloves
These crocheted mitts were designed to go with my Cascade spikes hat pattern, and are a great use for smaller amounts of yarn. With a ribbed cuff and flash of color at the top, they are a great way to show off team or school spirit!
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This easy textured hat uses only a few basic stitches, and can be worn as a folded brim beanie for extra warmth, or as a slouch. Designed as a special request by my daughter, it is stretchy and squishy and cozy and fast to work up. Add a pompom if you wish, for extra flare!!
Crochet: Beanie, Toque
Cascade is a three color (or more!) hat that is worked in the round. For the majority of the pattern, the unused yarn can be carried up the inside to minimize ends to weave in. This hat is great for using up scraps, and can be customized with school or team colors, or used to make coordinating hats for siblings or friends. There are two differe...

The length is adjustable for just the right amount of slouch, and the continuous spiral construction results in a seamless look. Only a few types of stitches are used, making this a good pattern for a beginner, as we...
Crochet: Scrubber
This cute little ladybug is a great way to use up smaller quantities of yarn to make either a double sided scrubbie, or a small stuffed creature. Because it is double sided, many of the ends can be stuffed inside rather than woven in - less finishing to do!!
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
I designed this hat during spring break at Neskowin beach. Slip stitch mosaic knitting allows use of two colors in one row without the difficulty of handling two separate strands of yarn simultaneously. The yarn worked only changes every 2 rows, and the unworked yarn is moved up the inside of the hat without cutting it, which decreases the numb...
Crochet: Beanie, Toque
Twinkle is a baby hat with a solid crown followed by a band of lace that forms a series of starbursts just before the brim. It uses relatively small amounts of yarn - perfect for busting through those leftover odds and ends! The lace portion is best worked in a soft, lighter worsted weight yarn to prevent it from becoming too stiff.
Crochet: Beanie, Toque
This little hat works up quickly starting with a granny square, and is perfect for using up worsted weight scraps. Consider combining it with a coordinating afghan for a darling gift set! Pattern is only available in one size, but using a heavier yarn and/or larger hook size should result in a larger hat if desired.
