Knitting: Mittens
The perfect mitts when cycling as they are extra long thus avoiding the annoying gap between the mitt and the sleeve.

For this project we have used Ullcentrum’s 2-ply sport weight wool yarn in the shade ‘Tivoli Multi’.

This pattern is for kids’ socks and uses 40 g of Ullcentrum’s 2-ply sport weight wool yarn for the leaf colour and 20 g for the berry colour.

Linen is an excellent material for wiping dirty surfaces and soaking up water.

For this project we have used Ullcentrum’s Alvar and 2-ply wool yarn plus a little bamboo/cotton yarn for the inside of the folded in edge.

This project requires 130 (150) 170 g Ullcentrum’s pencil roving depending on size which is used double.

For this project we have used Ullcentrum’s Linea linen yarn in colour no 210 and Ullcentrum’s 1-ply lace weight wool yarn in the colour Crocus.

For this project we have used Ullcentrum;s 2-ply sport weight wool yarn in white, rich, lion yellow and green as well as brown fine wool, ca. 100 g in total.

The wristlets can be made using either Ullcentrum’s 1-ply lace weight wool yarn or Ullcentrum’s 2-ply sport weight wool yarn.

For this project we have used 120 g but the shawl can easily be made wider by adding 11 sts per report.

Maria Larsson Märak was born in the Västerfjäll in 1875 and had Sami as her mother tongue. As an adult, she lived on the mountain farm Skaite in Jokkkmokk’s municipality, Sweden.

The advantage with alpaca yarn is that the fiber is soft and warmer than sheep’s wool. The disadvantage is that the fiber is not as tough and strong as wool, so might stretch and lose shape. To avoid this happening, we chose to use Ullcentrum’s 2-ply wool yarn in white together with the alpaca yarn for these mitts, as Ullcentrum’s Swedish wool ...

For this project we have used 250 g of Ullcentrum’s 2-ply ‘Alvar’ wool yarn in the colour ‘Malva”.

This beanie is worked in the pattern ‘Fågeltramp’, an old pattern originating from the islands of Öland and Gotland, Sweden.

These half mitts were made to match the shawl ‘Willow’ but feel free to use any colour combination you like.

For the green headband we have used the colours grass green and green on light grey and for the red one brick and cerise on light grey

The cross stitch pattern in the red/grey mitt requires an uneven amount of stitches while the green/white one requires an even amount

For size Lady S-M there are 40 sts around the hand. For a bigger size, 44 sts would probably required.

The mitts can be worked either with the yarn used double or, as we have done, using 2 strands in complimentary colours. Here we used grass green on light grey and green on light grey.

The size of the slippers can be changed slightly when felting. Yarn is held double to knit.

For this project we have used Ullcentrum’s Linea linen yarn and Viking of Norway’s Alpaca Maya, 100 g of each.
Knitting: Mittens
If you follow this pattern, the mittens will be big enough for felting in the machine. Should you wish a smaller mitt (normal lady’s size), we would recommend using a wool yarn, measuring 400 - 500 m per 100 gram together with needles 1.75 – 2 mm.
Crochet: Headband
The headband is worked in Tunisian Cross Stitch, which makes it more soft and elastic than when using Tunisian Simple Stitch

’Blommor och Väderkvarn’ (Flowers and Windmill) is perhaps the most well-known of all the patterns from Öland (Sweden). The pattern depicts stylised windmills and the flower ’Ölandssolvända’ (Öland rockrose or Helianthemum oelandicum), the province flower of Öland

In order to avoid having to work on a very big project when making a large shawl, Lena has divided it up in narrower lengths, which are then joined together. This shawl consists of 2 lengths but you can make as many as you want depending on the size of the shawl you wish and 3 lengths can even serve as a blanket.

Our Swedish wool is a perfect choice for woollen socks, as it is more durable than for ex. merino, thanks to its slightly thicker and longer fibers.

For this project we have used Clàsica from Manos del Uruguay but as this yarn is no longer available, you can equally well use Ullcentrum’s 3-ply (as indicated) with hook size 5 mm (350 g), Ullcentrum’s 2-ply with hook size 4.5 mm(250 g) or Ullcentrum’s 1-ply with hook size 4 mm (100 g).
