I used leftover yarn. I think it is DK or Sport weight, but to make the scarf soft, I chose a size 8 needle. You can play with your yarn and needles to get the drape you want.

Gauge is different for the different yarns: 24 st and 28 rows equals 4 inches in DK weight; 26 st and 36 rows equals 4 inches in sock weight. This works up beautifully in either yarn!

Good pattern for a man or woman. Has an interesting stitch traveling up the sides just inside the border, then a zigzag cable in the middle.
