Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This adorable fox hat is knit seamlessly in the round from the bottom up and then flattened and grafted to form a square crown shape that perks up into little pointed ears when worn.
Knitting: Billed Hat
Inspired by the thick, cloudy skies and hip urban attitude of Portland, this super-chunky billed beanie boasts warmth, style, and loads of textural interest.
Knitting: Pullover
The inspiration for this tunic-length, cabled raglan pullover was the fickle, cool weather of the Pacific Northwest and the tangled marriage of evergreen wilderness, home-farm agriculture, and big technology that is the Tualatin Valley, aka the Silicon Forest.
Crochet: Beanie, Toque
This is a very simple pattern that adapts the popular ripple stitch into an adorable child’s hat. Although any color combinations are possible, the white on blue reminds me of snow gathered on the edges of a gabled roof.
Crochet: Beanie, Toque
This is an exceedingly simple crochet hat, excellent for the crochet newbie, made entirely of double crochet. It was whipped up for a beginner class I teach on crocheting in the round. The most difficult part is the color changes, and you don’t even have to do that if you don’t want to!
