The Pink Moon is the name for the full moon that occurs in April. Despite its name, the moon doesn’t actually appear pink. The name comes from moss phlox (Phlox subulata), a type of pink wildflower that blooms in North America during early spring. The Worm Moon is a significant full moon that occurs in March, marking the transition from winter to spring. It is one of the 12 traditional full moons named by Native American tribes, European settlers, and other cultures based on seasonal changes. The yarn and pattern for the socks were created for Yarn Twisters Sock Club March 2025.

Starting with an asymmetrical triangle shawl shape, the main body is worked one way, and then stitches are picked up on the one side and joined with the live stitches to create the border.
