A real grab bag of fibres and colours, these mini skeins are hand chosen and hand wound from recycled yarn!

You get 1 mini skein of each 5 colours in a set (so 5 skeins). I always suggest buying 2 packs if you want to make matching socks, but you could just as easily mix and match for some really funky kicks.

About each colour: each colourway is inspired by something special (probably something geeky) and each of the 5 colours is chosen to go well with each other.

About stranded yarns: we make up each yarn by combining a lot of little yarns together. So you’ll see that some colours have up to 5 strands in them! Don’t panic, just hold them together as if they were one! This gives such a nice variation while you knit, just make sure you get all strands when you knit. :)

Recycled? Yarn?: yep! We source these yarns from coned machine wool. We get it donated to us, find them up in people’s attics and scour eBay/freecycle! If we didn’t save the cones (and put them through a cleaning and de-moth process) then all this amazing yarn would end up in a landfill. We love giving these forgotten cones a new life, and we love seeing what you make with them. Because they are all old cones, most of the time we don’t know what the fibre content is- so I would suggest machine washing on cold.
