Chutney
100% wild harvested silk bourette
134 yds makes 1 sq ft in stockinette st.
Care: Hand wash cool, dry flat
From Artfibers website: “Chutney is a wild harvested silk “bourette”. Bourette is a grade of silk that is deemed durable enough to make fabric for items such as fine suits. The feel of Chutney is dry, like a tussah silk, however, unlike tussah, bourette seems to retain its smooth surface. Try Chutney for small bags, and shells, sweaters and skirts that require great drape. Any person on your gift list with sensitive skin will love wearing a Chutney scarf or shawl. If using Chutney for children or babies, you may use your washing machine on warm or cool but bypass the agitation cycle. Chutney is not suitable for socks unless elastic thread is added. Chutney has great yield which makes it a good choice for multistranding or adding to other yarns to allow using larger needles. The knitters and crocheters who have tested Chutney for us give it a top rating and promote it for any project. This is another yarn you will want to have on hand in your stash!”
