This custom-combined yarn is composed of a 3-ply/dk weight strand of superfine alpaca and a 2-ply/lace-weight strand of superfine merino wool. The alpaca strand gives the yarn a silky soft hand and gentle drape. The strand of merino provides elasticity and memory that prevents the drape of the alpaca from sagging and bagging.

The two strands are dyed together in the same pot, but take the dye differently, which results in a wonderfully subtle depth and liveliness of color.
